Yohan Beugin

Welcome! I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Wisconsin–Madison where I am a member of the Security and Privacy Research Group, advised by Prof. Patrick McDaniel, and was the lead graduate student in the McDaniel research group.

I have received my M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University as well as my Diplôme d'Ingénieur (B.S. and M.S. in Engineering Sciences) from the French Engineering School Centrale Lyon.

I am interested in building more secure, privacy-preserving, and trustworthy systems. My current research focuses on online advertising, tracking, and privacy as well as the security of open-source software. I also maintain the Privacy Sandstorm research portal.

On my free time, I enjoy exercising and being in nature, depending on the season, you can find me: bikepacking, geocaching, hiking, playing badminton, running, skiing, snowboarding, or swimming. I also like reading, baking, and hanging out with my two cats.
